ELECTRICIAN
Electricians work on electrical equipment and in homes, factories, businesses and buildings, both existing and under construction, to install, repair and maintain power, lighting, communications and control systems. On a daily basis, Electricians repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools. They use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps. Diagnose electrical problems using diagrams or blueprints. Install and repair electrical systems.
FABRICATOR
As a welding fabricator, you will be responsible for joining metal using a variety of techniques, often to form new structures. Duties may include cutting and welding materials according to technical plans created by other construction professionals. Working on a construction site or in a workshop. A Welder Fabricator may be involved in the creation of new structures or objects or may be hired to repair existing ones.
PLUMBER
Reading blueprints and drawings to understand or plan the layout of plumbing, waste disposal and water supply systems. Cutting, assembling and installing pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure. Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in commercial and residential structures. Collaborate with general contractors, electricians, and other construction professionals. Follow building plans and blueprints. Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing emergencies.
WELDER
Welders manage the machines that manufacture and repair metal structures, tools, and equipment. These skilled professionals work in a variety of industries including automotive, construction, and manufacturing. Other duties include planning layouts and measurements and testing welded surfaces. Reads and comprehends construction drawings and specifications. Lays out and installs piping, equipment, and other mechanical systems in compliance with construction drawings and specifications. Marks up construction drawings and specifications with as-built status.
INSULATOR
Insulators install and replace the material that saves energy and helps reduce noise in buildings and around vats, vessels, boilers, steam pipes, and water pipes. Insulators also install fire-stopping materials to prevent the spread of a fire and smoke throughout a building. Insulation will help you keep the desired temperature in your house all year round, protecting it against cold in winter and excess heat in summer. Insulation is also useful to reduce noise pollution. A well-insulated house is very energy efficient and will need very little additional heating and cooling.
PIPEFITTER
Pipefitters are tradespeople who build pipe systems used for heating, hot water, cooling, steam and more. They make sure that pipes are cut, installed, and maintained according to specifications. A pipefitter attaches pipes to walls, structures and fixtures, such as radiators or tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment. Pipefitters measure and mark pipes for cutting, threading and welding. They use specific tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders, benders, and welders.
